BCBA

Aberdeen, SD Part-Time or Full-Time Flexible Schedule

About the Role

Opus ABA is growing and looking for a BCBA to join our team in Aberdeen, SD. You'll provide clinical oversight, design treatment plans, and help shape how we deliver compassionate, evidence-based ABA services to families in northeast South Dakota.

This role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to grow with a practice that values clinical autonomy and quality over quantity.

What You'll Do

  • Provide clinical oversight for ABA services and sign off on treatment plans
  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments (VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS, etc.)
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans based on each child's unique strengths and needs
  • Help recruit, train, and supervise RBTs as the caseload grows
  • Deliver parent training and collaborate with families on goals and progress
  • Analyze data to guide treatment decisions and make ongoing plan adjustments
  • Participate in insurance credentialing and Medicaid enrollment alongside the founder
  • Work directly with the founder on clinical direction, case planning, and practice growth
  • Maintain compliance with insurance requirements, BACB guidelines, and ethical standards
  • Coordinate with schools, pediatricians, and other providers when appropriate

What We're Looking For

  • Active BCBA certification in good standing with the BACB
  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field
  • Individual NPI number
  • South Dakota ABA licensure (or willingness to obtain — costs covered by Opus ABA)
  • Experience providing ABA therapy to children with autism spectrum disorder
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills with families, team members, and other providers
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
  • Reliable transportation for in-home service delivery
  • Comfort working in a startup environment where you'll wear multiple hats early on

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of clinical experience as a BCBA (new BCBAs welcome with strong fieldwork experience)
  • Experience with early intervention (ages 2-6)
  • Supervision experience with RBTs
  • Familiarity with insurance authorization processes (Medicaid, BCBS, etc.)
  • Experience with telehealth or hybrid service delivery models

Why Opus ABA?

You make the treatment decisions — no corporate playbook. You'll have a manageable caseload, clinical autonomy, and work directly with a founder who listens. We built Opus to bring high-quality ABA services to families who've been waiting too long — and to give clinicians a better place to practice.
