Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Aberdeen, SD Full-Time Flexible Schedule

About the Role

Opus ABA is looking for a passionate, mission-driven Board Certified Behavior Analyst to join our growing team in Aberdeen, South Dakota. This is an opportunity to practice ABA the way it should be done — with clinical autonomy, manageable caseloads, and real support from leadership.

At Opus, we believe in quality over quantity. You won't be stretched across 25+ cases or handed a corporate playbook. You'll lead treatment planning for a small, intentional caseload, mentor your RBT team, and make the clinical decisions that matter most for each family you serve.

If you're tired of corporate ABA burnout and want to build something meaningful alongside a leadership team that listens, this is the role for you.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments (VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS, etc.)
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans based on each child's unique strengths and needs
  • Provide direct and indirect supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians
  • Deliver parent training and collaborate with families on goals and progress
  • Analyze data to guide treatment decisions and make ongoing plan adjustments
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and professional development
  • Maintain compliance with insurance requirements, BACB guidelines, and ethical standards
  • Coordinate with schools, pediatricians, and other providers when appropriate

What We're Looking For

  • Active BCBA certification in good standing with the BACB
  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field
  • South Dakota licensure (or willingness to obtain before start date)
  • Experience providing ABA therapy to children with autism spectrum disorder
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills with families, team members, and other providers
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
  • Reliable transportation for in-home service delivery

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of clinical experience as a BCBA (new BCBAs welcome with strong fieldwork experience)
  • Experience with early intervention (ages 2-6)
  • Supervision experience with RBTs
  • Familiarity with insurance authorization processes (Medicaid, BCBS, etc.)
  • Experience with telehealth or hybrid service delivery models

Why Opus ABA?

We started Opus because too many families in northeast South Dakota were waiting months — sometimes years — for ABA services. And too many talented clinicians were burning out in corporate settings that treated therapy like a numbers game.

At Opus, you'll find a different culture. We keep caseloads manageable so you can actually know your clients. We give you clinical autonomy because you earned those credentials. And we invest in your growth because when you thrive, the families you serve thrive too.

About Aberdeen

Aberdeen is a welcoming community in northeast South Dakota with affordable housing, excellent schools, safe neighborhoods, and easy access to outdoor recreation along the James River. Northern State University is right here for continuing education opportunities. It's the kind of place where your career and your life can both thrive.
